Recruiting new Trustees and Directors

Would you like to serve The Well Christian Healing Centre as a Trustee / Director?

This is an exciting time for The Well as we develop the ministries God is calling us to in pursuit of our 10-year vision – and do so increasingly online. Trustees normally serve for two years at a time and may extend up to 9 years.

You probably know about The Well and you may even know one or more of our current Trustees (we require a minimum of four and no more than 12). We are jointly responsible legally for The Well as a Charity (no.1097443) and as a Company (no.04664030), and we share our responsibilities for oversight of the following areas: Prayer Ministry and development; Training and supervision; Operations, including HR; Finance; Legal and regulatory; Communications and marketing; Fund raising; Premises; Networking and clergy contact.

Your involvement will include six full Board meetings a year, plus some Committee, Group or informal meetings, and discussions with Trustees, staff and key ministry and operational team members.

You will be able to attend Well activities – including free participation in some wonderful training events, quiet days, and conferences.

What to do next

If you are interested, then please have a look at these key documents – and feel free to have a chat with one of our trustees:

If after reading these you want to express a formal interest, then please send a letter (to the Chair at office@wellhealing.org) saying why you are interested and why you believe you are a suitable applicant.

You will then hear back from the Board, who may decide to invite you for an informal face to face meeting.

If the Board decide to pursue, they will invite you to send your CV with a covering letter to the Chair of Trustees (c/o office) who will share your details with other Trustees. They may then invite you for a formal interview with at least two trustees. They will then make a formal recommendation to the full Board of Trustees. If your application is successful you will be invited to sign a letter of appointment to this voluntary role (of which the terms are governed by The Well’s Memorandum and Articles of Association) and a declaration of Trustee Eligibility. The letter will indicate the mutually agreed period of initial appointment and possibilities for renewal.

The Chair will then arrange a programme of induction for you during which you will be able to enjoy meeting all Trustees and staff plus some key members of our Ministry and Admin teams.
