Why Come For Prayer?

People receive prayer at The Well for a range of different reasons. For some it will be physical, such as those going through a cancer journey or a long term illness. For others it will be for emotional challenges such as anxiety and coming to terms with past issues. Others are looking for spiritual refreshment or freedom.

If you haven’t had prayer ministry before, you might understandably be a little nervous. Don’t worry. We take care to make sure your visit is a very positive experience.

Appointments

A typical appointment will be 30-45 minutes long, and it may be possible to book a double appointment if suitable. Please book by phone or online. You are also welcome to drop in during one of the prayer ministry sessions, rest in our Encounter Space and receive a blessing prayer from the team.

Welcome

After you come in through our blue front door, our Welcome Team will greet your, take your details and explain what happens next. When you are ready, you can move into the Encounter Space which will help you rest and receive God’s love and healing as you experience music and inspiring visuals. The prayer team will then collect you for your appointment.

A private, restful, holy space

Our building at Augusta Place has been designed and fitted to focus on Prayer Ministry. We have five Prayer Rooms which are used solely for ministering to our guests. They are private, quiet, restful, holy spaces where you can feel comfortable.

Two Prayer Team members will listen to your needs, and then pray for your situation. Our volunteers have all been trained, and work under the supervision of our Co-Directors Ian and Ruth Dowsett. Anything you tell the team will be treated as confidential.

Next steps

At the end of your prayer ministry time, the prayer team will discuss the next steps with you to find the right follow-up for you.

The team might recommend coming back for more appointments or a longer session of prayer. We may suggest going to a Rest and Receive Prayer session, or a local church. We are an independent charity, but we do partner with local churches.
