Hello, my name is Richard Street and I’m delighted to have joined The Well as a Trustee.
My wife Clare and I first met at University over 40 years ago and have now been married for nearly 37 years. We have 2 wonderful children, James and Hannah, who are both married and in their 30s and we are excited at the prospect of becoming grandparents for the first time in September.
Clare and I live in a village just outside of Rugby, with our Sprocker dog Eddie, and have now been in the area for 18 years. In fact, this is our second time living here as our children were both born in Rugby before my work led to us elsewhere for about 10 years. Throughout both our times in the Rugby area, Bilton Evangelical Church (known locally as BEC) has been our home church and I was part of the leadership team there for 10 years.
Until 2 years ago I worked in leadership roles, primarily in Retail, for companies such as Boots, WHSmith, Halfords and latterly Dunelm. Since leaving full time corporate work I’ve set up a small consultancy and coaching practice and enjoy journeying with individuals and organisations through transitions.
I am a passionate footie fan (not shared by Clare!) and support Leeds United as I was born there, and also love boating on the south coast (see photo).
My connection with The Well has accelerated over the last couple of years from hearing how good it was from family and friends to personally experiencing it. I first went to a ‘Rest & Receive’ session, where in addition to soaking in God’s presence, I was given a ‘spot on‘ prophetic word. After that I went for 3 personal prayer ministry sessions, which culminated in Anne leading a powerful Release session for me.
As a result I wanted to make myself available to support this wonderful ministry, so when I saw the advert for a Trustee role with the provocative question ‘ do you long to see people encounter the healing love and power of God ?‘ I felt compelled to apply and now the rest is history!
I am really excited by God’s call for The Well to enter Chapter 2 on this incredible journey that it’s been on for over 20 years and am spurred on by Jesus’ teaching that we should pray ‘your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven ‘.
Be encouraged from me that your commitment to The Well makes a real difference!
