Receiving The Baton
As we look back with thanksgiving for the last two decades of Anne’s inspirational leadership, we also look forward with great anticipation to all God will do in the next chapter of The Well.
On 8th December 2025, Ian and Ruth Dowsett will begin as Co-Directors of The Well as Anne steps back from leadership and enters retirement.
Watch the video Anne sat down with Ian and Ruth to talk about their journey in healing ministry, the impact they have already seen The Well make, and the areas of the vision they feel called to build on.
Ian served as a Curate and Associate Vicar for seven years before becoming Vicar of St Paul’s, South Harrow (2009 to 2023) where Ruth was part of the senior leadership team.
For the past two years, Ian and Ruth have co-led St Peter’s Bourne, a Christian community in London.
Throughout these years, they have been deeply involved in healing and prophetic work, with a heart for seeing others encounter the transformational love and power of God through healing prayer.
At St Peter’s Bourne, Ruth pioneered and leads a House of Prayer and Worship and is also ministers to women in leadership, while preaching and leading worship. Ian pastorally supports members of the St Peter’s Bourne community and a large staff team at a local church.
On Friday 15th November, more than 250 of us gathered as a community for our Passing the Baton Celebration. It was a truly meaningful and Spirit-filled afternoon as Anne blessed Ruth and Ian and released them into their new roles as Co-Directors.
The moment when Anne passed the Spiritual Keys of the Well and the Baton of Leadership to Ian and Ruth was very significant, full of God’s blessing, calling and provision.

Looking Forward
As we step forward, we ask for your ongoing prayers:
- For Ruth & Ian as they prepare to settle into their roles and get to know the Team, supporters, churches, and guests. Also, please pray for full healing for Ruth.
- For Anne as she prepares to step down on 7th December and support the transition. May her next chapter be full of rest, joy and God’s gentle leading.
- For The Well’s ministry and Team, that many more Guests will encounter God’s healing and transformative love.
