Online Rest and Receive Prayer

As a result of the lockdown, we have moved Rest and Receive Prayer online.

You can still book using the form at the bottom of the page, but if you would like to see what we are doing online, please follow this link.

When and where does it happen?

Rest and Receive Prayer is an important part of our Prayer Ministry. Whilst it is provided free of charge, booking is essential as we need to be aware of the number attending to ensure we can plan the event properly.

Rest and Receive happens happens three weeks a month, at 2 p.m. on a Wednesday afternoon or at 7.15 p.m. on a Thursday evening.

Who is it for?

Rest and Receive is suited to anyone who wants to spend some time in stillness with God, and is especially beneficial for those struggling with illness and those who are in stressful situations.

Some Guests come to receive more of Father-God’s love and care after a healing prayer appointment earlier in the week. For others, Rest and Receive might be their first experience of The Well’s ministry. Our regular Rest and Receive Guests just love the opportunity to rest awhile in Father-God’s presence.

We no longer do what used to be called ‘Soaking Prayer’ specifically for pregnant women, but we do encourage women who are pregnant to attend Rest and Receive. We believe that the time babies spend in their mother’s womb is really important physically, emotionally and spiritually, and we would love to invite you to rest in God’s presence during this time.

What happens at Rest and Receive?

Rest and Receive gives us the opportunity to quieten ourselves, allow our bodies and minds to rest, and our souls to be refreshed by God. Described by one Guest as a ‘spiritual massage’, it is deeply relaxing and comforting.

Unlike Healing Prayer, where Guests are seen individually, these sessions accommodate up to 15 Guests per session.

You arrive and we sign you in. When everyone is gathered, we start with a short talk on Father-God’s love for us and then begin our restful time.

Practically speaking, this is a period of simple relaxation and reflection, sitting or lying down, with gentle music playing in the background while The Well’s trained prayer ministry team pray silently for you, asking the Holy Spirit to gently touch those places which hurt inside.

At the end of this time of resting and receiving from God, one of The Well’s team will pray a blessing prayer over the whole group.

Afterwards, if you feel that you’d like individual healing prayer ministry, then please do book an appointment at one of our regular weekly sessions.

We provide mats and sofas. Please bring a pillow and a blanket to make yourself comfortable.

How do I book an appointment?
