Right from the start of The Well, Rest and Receive Prayer (formerly known as Soaking Prayer) has been integral to what we have offered within our prayer ministry. Now, in response to social distancing measures, Rest and Receive will be taking place weekly online, until we go back to 20 Augusta Place.

Who is it for?

Rest and Receive gives us the opportunity to quieten ourselves, allow our bodies and minds to rest, and our souls to be refreshed by God. It is especially beneficial for people who:

  • are struggling with illness;
  • are anxious or fearful;
  • are feeling isolated and alone;
  • are feeling weary and drained;
  • are bereaved;
  • want to spend some time in stillness with God.

You might want to think of Rest and Receive Prayer like this. Imagine the ground is hard and dry.  If there is a sudden rain shower the water runs off the ground. But if there’s a gentle rainfall over a long period of time the ground will slowly become moist and the water soaks in.

Where and when does it happen?

The Well’s Online Rest and Receive Prayer takes place via Zoom.

It happens every week at:

  • 2 p.m. on a Wednesday afternoon
    or
  • 7.15 p.m. on a Monday evening.

Each Rest and Receive Prayer session lasts for an hour.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book online on this page, just scroll down.

Or you can call the Office on 01926 888003

When you book, you will be invited to write a brief (one or two sentence) description of what you want prayer for, and to email this to ministry@wellhealing.org. Anything you share will be treated as confidential. Rev. Anne Hibbert, our Director of Ministry, will receive these emails and share them with the Rest and Receive Prayer Team.
