THEME AND REFLECTION TIME

Psalm 91 oozes with God’s promise of protection, presence and peace. In life we are often battered by disappointment, stress, bereavement, fear and illness. Here in this Psalm we discover how to access God’s Hiding Place for us.

During the day Anne will look at some of the prominent themes within this Psalm. The first two verses are key. ‘Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.’ The word ‘dwell’ indicates an abiding, an arriving or a staying in a particular place or relationship. ‘Dwell’ is the key. Relationship is the requirement. Psalm 91 is an amazing description of what life looks like when we opt to ‘dwell’ in God in a close relationship.

Anne will also look at times when we don’t feel close to God perhaps due to sadness, bereavement, illness. Can we ask hard questions about God and still hide in Him?

Anne will give two talks in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each session will be followed by silent prayer and reflection times.

Throughout the day, members of The Well Christian Healing Centre will be available to offer short times of individual prayer.

In the afternoon there will be an opportunity for Rest and Receive prayer. Therefore you may want to bring a pillow and something to lie on like a mat or blanket.
Jephson Gardens is nearby to enjoy short walks within God’s creation.
