10:00 am - 4:00 pm
The Well Christian Healing Centre
Theme and reflection time
Worry is a very common emotion which can often dominate and overwhelm our lives. It affects our relationship with God, family and others. Often anxious thoughts lead us into a place of fear. These emotions can stop us from being the men and women God has called us to be.
Jesus was well aware of how crippling these two emotions can be. He said to His followers ‘Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?’ Matthew 6:25 and when He walked on the water, He exclaimed to his fearful disciples ‘Fear not, it is I.’ Mark 6: 50.
During the morning Anne will be teaching from Bible passages that will help us to trust God and practically suggest ways in which we can deal with worry. Anne will give two talks in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each session will be followed by a silent prayer and reflection time.
In the afternoon after a short talk there will be an opportunity for ‘Rest and Receive Prayer’, which is a space to rest and listen to some quiet soothing music. So please bring a pillow, blanket and mat for comfort if you want to do this. Afterwards there will be a creative prayer activity.
Throughout the day, members of The Well Christian Healing Centre will be available to offer short times of individual prayer.
