The Well

An active faith in God requires obedience to his commands, even when this proves challenging. Faith proved costly for Abraham when God required him to leave behind everything that was familiar and dear to him, and to adopt a new lifestyle where he would need to depend on God and on the truth of His promises. Those who choose to live a life of faith in Jesus as Lord and Saviour do so because God gives clear & amazing promises of all the blessings that He wants to pour on us when we become His children.

Because we are frail human beings we can all too easily fail to live by faith, and live in ways which are displeasing to God. However, God is faithful and does not reject us for our failure. We see the stages on the downward path which Abraham took at a time of testing, but also God’s wonderful mercy in forgiving and restoring him. Failure need never be final for the Christian; there is always a way back to God, who longs for us to walk once again on the right path.

Maurice will give two talks in the morning and Anne will give the afternoon talk. Each session will be followed by silent prayer and reflection times. Following the afternoon talk there will be an optional creative activity on the theme.

Throughout the day, members of The Well Christian Healing Centre will be available to offer short times of individual prayer.

A Biblical activity sheet will be available after each talk to help maximise these times. Jephson Gardens is nearby to enjoy short walks within God’s creation.
