Seven Churches in Revelation
Revd Andrew Dow retired in 2010 after 39 years in parish ministry, but is well-known and much valued for his continuing teaching ministry. His heart is to open up and explain the Bible to ordinary people.
About this Listening to God Teaching Day
We are delighted to welcome the Revd Canon Andrew Dow, who was vicar of St Paul’s Leamington Spa from 1978 to 1988, to lead this ‘Listening to God’ Teaching Day for The Well.
Just as a senior doctor does his ward rounds, so the Great Physician, Jesus Christ, tours seven of his churches in 1st century Asia Minor, diagnosing and prescribing. What signs of frailty or fitness will he find in these congregations? Weariness and faithfulness, compromise and perseverance – to name a few. Is this merely of interest to a church historian? Or does the Book of Revelation’s favourite number, seven, indicate a more contemporary message, a deeper purpose?
During the course of the day, Andrew will endeavour to explain and apply these two opening chapters of Revelation in a way designed to inspire, comfort, and challenge us all as individuals, but also as members of the different church fellowships to which we belong.
The Well is pleased to announce that the Listening to God Conference on the 21st September 2019 can now be downloaded all three of Andrew Dow’s sessions for only £8.00.
