Those wow moments!

14

THERE are times when only the word ‘wow!’ will do.

And this week was one of those occasions, when I was reunited with somebody who had heard me speak at a special event in Belgium at the start of 2010.

She had always wanted to come to the Well for prayer and saw the opportunity when she found out her son was moving to Leamington Spa.

She decided it was the perfect time to be here with him as he did so – and to come to The Pump Rooms.

People often come from far away for prayer and many of them will have heard about The Well at an event they have attended – but what made this special was she booked a bed and breakfast and one of the first things she spotted when she went into her room was… a leaflet about The Well!

Without realising it, she had booked for bed and breakfast with someone who is a member of our team!

Tomorrow I am much closer to home for a speaking event, when I will be at the On Fire Midlands day of renewal on the theme of ‘Jesus the healer – then and now’.

It will certainly be a chance to show our new DVD and to focus on that great verse, Hebrews 13: 8, ‘Jesus is the same yesterday, today and for ever’.

There are plenty more details of the day here on our website and it appears people will be travelling good distances to this, from High Wycombe, Dudley and more!

Last week I mentioned about the training course - which was also another wow occasion - and I was delighted to see people taking part and getting into the prayer exercises we gave them. Many were surprised at what they were doing!

Some people saw the course as a step towards joining our prayer team, while others had come as part of a group from their churches as part of starting or building up their own prayer ministry teams!

We always ask for feedback and here are just a few comments:

‘Most helpful and challenging. I was daunted at first by the idea of my being worthy of giving a blessing to another but found it to be most rewarding.’

‘Enjoyable, informative, well-structured and stimulating.’

‘The practical assignments have been helpful to enable me to step out in God and have confidence.’

If you are interested in doing this training, we are due to run two courses next year so do contact the office and we’ll send you out details when they are available!

Next on my list is to work with one of our team members on the prayer areas we will have available at our Finding a Pathway Through Cancer event a week tomorrow, October 22.

We will have a large, dedicated room with four or five themed areas where people can encounter God and share any heartache and pain.

It’s really important we have a prayer space for a day like this and I am very hopeful we can create something really special.

We will also have prayer team members available to offer individual appointments - and if you have been thinking about coming, there is still time to book.
