IT is always such a joy to get together with those people who make up The Well team and yesterday evening was one of those special times when we can all meet up.

Across our three prayer ministry sessions each week, at soaking prayer, quiet days and other events, in the office and in many other ways, The Well is truly blessed by the incredible volunteers who allow us to give people the chance to encounter God.

It can often be the case that people who are part of our Tuesday afternoon prayer team don’t see much of those who pray on Wednesday mornings, for example, so twice a year we really enjoy an evening where people have the chance to catch up with each other and with our latest news.

We start with a meal and then move on to a varied programme of worship, teaching and updates – always starting with our ice breaker.

I have to say that last night it was a quiz about chocolate and I was very impressed that one table got full marks and everybody got more than 75 per cent!

One of our talented team led us in worship, another gave a brief but compelling time of teaching and then we had updates on various aspects of the Well’s work from trustees and team members.

This included an introduction to a very special event we’ve got coming up in June.

It is the latest in our series of Pathway days looking at specific situations from a Christian perspective and on June 22 we will be running, ‘Pathway Through Patterns of Unhealthy Behaviour’.

This will seek to help people towards a better understanding of a range of behaviours – self-harm, eating issues, pornography and obsessions – including how patterns develop, how to support those affected and how to move towards wholeness.

We also had a great update from soaking prayer before ending with a time of prayer for each other using those wonderful words of Zephaniah 3: 17:

‘The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, he will rejoice over you with singing.’
