Praise Unlocks the Door to Healing

3 July 2015

‘Today I have been able to look at the issue of forgiveness and turning negativity into praise. I know that God walks beside me in the darkest times. A lovely peaceful day.’

This comment is from just one one of our Guests at yesterday’s Quiet Day as we reflected upon Psalm 103. The sun shone outside and Father-God’s love flowed inside! I taught on the power of praise. When we praise God for Who He is, for what He has done and for what He has promised to do, God will respond by manifesting His presence. And this leads us to worship Him. Psalm 22:3 speaks about God inhabiting the praise of His people. And that is why it is good to praise God whatever our circumstances as He dwells in the atmosphere of this praise.

This teaching unlocked and captured our Guests’ attention.

In my second talk I taught on forgiveness in connection with the Psalmist’s words; “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits – Who forgives all your sins and heals your diseases’ (Psalm 103:3). The Psalmist without medical science was able to make a connection between psychological/spiritual disharmony, and a lack of physical wellbeing, by showing how often unforgiveness in our heart blocks God’s healing power.

In the afternoon I taught on how God longs to refresh, renew and empower us. I ended with a meditation and creative prayer activity. At the end one person shared her ‘picture’. It was astonishing how God used it and I ended up exclaiming ‘God, how did You do that?’

Amazing! And I get the chance of doing this Quiet Day all over again tomorrow! Bring it on, God!
