Our eighth anniversary!

03

I’M writing this week’s piece a little early so I can share what a special day it is today!

We are having a very special prayer time this afternoon to mark the eighth anniversary of The Well Christian Healing Centre opening its doors for public ministry!

And, wow, what an incredible eight years it’s been!

Our prayer session to thank God for these past eight years - and to lead us into our ninth year - will be at Christ Church in Leamington this afternoon, Friday, February 3, from 2.30pm-5.30pm.

It’s in Priory Terrace and is where we hold our Quiet Days, so if you are able to join us, that would be wonderful!

It’s a drop-in occasion so you don’t have to come for the whole time but it would be lovely if you could join us for part of the afternoon.

Liz from our prayer team has planned the afternoon based on 1 Chronicles 16: 8-36 with those words that express how wonderful God is.

Verse 34 says: ‘Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good’ and that will truly be our cry as we reflect on all that has happened since February 2004!

If I think about our original vision when God spoke to me in my friend’s garden and said about people will come from far and wide, wow, we have certainly seen that come true. We have seen many people from the immediate area but have also seen people travel great distance by car or public transport to come to the Well.

Only last Saturday, we had a new Quiet Day guest who had made a very early start to travel from the north-west by train and I recall a guest from Durham who came down by train for a soaking prayer appointment and then got back on the train to head home!

But above all we’ve seen so many healings!

One of the most memorable will always be when schoolgirl Deanne was able to walk again and hit the headlines but there have been many others which haven’t attracted the press but have still made a big difference to people’s lives - a frozen shoulder sorted, chronic pain in an ankle gone, a woman who was able to run up and down stairs… so many big and small moments, thank you God!

We love that verse from Galatians 5, ‘It is for freedom that Christ has set us free’ and as well as the physical healings we have also seen people released from past hurts and baggage as we have extended our inner healing prayers and beginnings prayers!

I have mentioned our Quiet Days and they too have proved another way people can encounter God’s healing power so this afternoon really will be a time of celebration, a time when we can celebrate God’s goodness to us and thank Him for His provision.

It’s a word I may use too often but after eight years I just want to say an extra special Wow!!!

And if you can’t join us in person, do pray with us wherever you are! Thank you all and, above all, thank you God!
