Theme and reflection time

2018 stretches out before us like snow that has fallen silently on the landscape and as yet is undisturbed by footprints.

We read in Deuteronomy 31:8 that God always goes before us. He knows everything about this coming New Year with all its challenges and opportunities, the highs and the lows and how we will face them all. God’s heart of love yearns for us to journey well through 2018 with a deeper awareness of His presence and all His resources which are freely available to us. But how do we access all this? A clue is in Jesus’ words in Matthew 7:7-8 when he describes prayer as ‘Ask, Seek and Knock’.

During the day Anne will be sharing how we can have a deeper prayer life. What does it mean to ‘ask’? How do we ‘seek’ God and His will in 2018? What does it mean to ‘knock’ in prayer? How do we discover God’s ‘doors’?

This Quiet Day will give you space to pause, reflect and encounter God as you explore 2018 in prayer!

Anne will give two talks in the morning and one in the afternoon, and each session will be followed by silent prayer and reflection times.  After the third talk there will be an optional creative prayer activity.

Throughout the day, members of The Well Christian Healing Centre will be available to offer short times of individual prayer.

Who is this day For?

  • Those wanting to retreat for a few hours away from the busyness of life;
  • Those who want space to ponder their relationship with God as 2018 begins to unfold;
  • Those who want to explore prayer and God’s provisions/resources;
  • Those who have run out of inner resources;
  • Those who have never been on a Quiet Day before.

Christ Church, Leamington Spa, is located near the bottom of The Parade, behind the Parish Church, in Leamington Spa. Christ Church does not have its own car park but there is a variety of parking nearby, including long-stay car parks. Jephson Gardens is nearby to enjoy short walks in God’s creation.

St. Nicholas Church, Radford Semele, is a medieval church which was devastated by fire in 2008. It has been beautifully refurbished and is now a fabulous place to worship God and to have events like this Quiet Day.
